Find Out Our Founding Story
We are a young company. Founded in 2018 by Robert Francis or "Bobby" as a contracting company within tourism in Iceland. Robert soon found himself in the midst of moonlighting in building another travel agency owned and operated by his friend. Sourcing guides and vehicles he soon found to be time consuming and scattered work. And so Bobby Cars was born, bringing it's clients a "boots on the ground approach" to their Iceland sales and operations.
Bobby Cars in it’s current form was launched in March of 2022, armed with one Mercedes Vito and a network of vehicles and guides we started marching towards our future.
For me, it is important to remember that our goals are to create a company culture of growth and betterment for our human capital, we are a human company, created by humans, run by humans to create human experiences. Even though we are a B2B business the essence is this humanity.

There is a moment in travel, where something happens, there is a deep, some-times not even conscious breath taken and a feeling of lightness, understanding or compassion pulses through us. Our shoulders sit back and we get a new perspective on something we didn’t even know we needed perspective on. We might understand that we were wrong in a situation for the first time and gain compassion, or we might be cracking a problem we have been trying to solve for some time.
This moment could be a sunset, nice dinner, sitting by a fireside or catching a sunset over a desolate fjord while bathing in a hot spring.
It is at this moment, at the end of the day, after all discussion of prices and timings and extra costs, that we aim to facilitate for all of our customers travelers.
